Tara Blackwood’s life was profoundly changed on the eve of Cade Benoit’s 1st overseas deployment.  It was the moment her world began to crumble. Her father had his first stroke leaving him forever changed. She found herself pregnant and alone with Cade’s baby. And she was the lone survivor after a convenience store robbery which left her severely traumatized and mourning the lose of not only her unborn child but her twin brother who tried to protect her.

This one act by a second offense gun violence  felon spurred her to become an advocate for Gun Violence Victims everywhere. Tara Blackwood’s life was profoundly changed on the eve before Cade Benoit was to report back to his post prior to his 1st overseas deployment.  Her father had his first stroke leaving an empty angry shell of a man, who was the epitome by which all other men entering her life were judged. Discovering she was pregnant with Cade’s baby following his last words to her, creating a void that slowly seemed to split apart day after day. After being shot during a convenience store robbery which left her severely traumatized and mourning the lose of not only her unborn child but her twin brother who tried to protect her. Her world crumbled into shambles.
When one of the suspects in the robbery is caught and Tara discovers the suspect was a second offense gun violence  felon it sets her off on a path of advocacy and awareness. Determined to not let her brother’s death and that of her unborn child’s be in vain she becomes empowered to  advocate for Gun Violence Victims everywhere.
